Connect Quoter (CPQ)
Send your estimate to Quoter as a draft quote without re-keying the scope, BOM, or labor.
Quoter is a CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) platform. DarkBird pushes your finished estimate into a Quoter draft quote so you can send a professional proposal without re-keying the scope, bill of materials, or labor. DarkBird connects to Quoter using OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials (no user login required).
Step 1 — Generate API credentials
- Your Account → API Keys
In Quoter, open this page. A Sales Manager role or higher is required to view it.
- Create API Key
Click Create API Key and give it a name, e.g. DarkBird.
- Save and copy credentials
Quoter will display a Client ID and Client Secret. Copy both immediately — the secret is shown only once.
Step 2 — Enter credentials in DarkBird
Go to Settings → Integrations → Quoter and click Connect. Fill in the fields:
| Field | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Client ID | Shown on the API Keys page in Quoter after creating the key |
| Client Secret | Shown once when the API key is first created — copy before leaving the screen |
| API URL | Defaults to https://api.quoter.com/v1 — leave as-is unless you are on a custom Quoter instance |
What DarkBird does in Quoter
- Push to Quoter — On the Deliver tab, the Quoting section appears while the project is in Planning. Click Push to Quoter to create a new draft quote pre-filled with your scope summary, BOM, and labor.
- Scope Summary — A plain-text summary of the project (install card names and quantities) is added to the quote, not the full formatted Statement of Work.
- Bill of Materials — Every product on the project is pushed as an individual line item. Products are matched to Quoter's supplier catalog by manufacturer part number (MPN) where available; unmatched products appear as description-only lines.
- Labor Hours — Choose how labor is pushed: a single Labour line item with the total estimated hours, or one Labour line per install card for a more itemized quote.
- Contact Linking — Search and select a Quoter contact to attach to the quote, the same way you link a company when creating a PSA opportunity.
Quoter supplements your PSA — it does not replace it. Use Quoter to produce the customer-facing proposal, then continue to ConnectWise or HaloPSA for project delivery and actuals.
